Cheers, everyone! Happy Tuesday!
This morning I'd love to introduce you to Love True. Headquartered in Somerville, New Jersey, Love True is an incredible non-profit on an outstanding mission: the cessation of domestic sex trafficking.
I've been following Love True for a long time; and on and off through the years I have had the privilege of shooting for them. I've been able to watch them grow and develop their hybrid approach to tackling a very difficult and poorly understood subject. "Ending sex trafficking through parallel efforts in prevention education and restoration" hasn't come easily, but they'll tell you that they never signed up for easy.
If you would like to learn more about who they are and what they do, I'd highly encourage you to hop on over to their web home. In the mean time, here are a handful of head shots I was able to co-create with the Love True staff.
For this shoot, I wanted to communicate Love True's friendly and approachable vibe, as well as their authority and contribution to the local and state understanding of trafficking. Choosing the Somerville Court House as a backdrop seemed appropriate. We were able to combine high-key and powerful architecture that alludes to authority and change with warm, inviting, and inspiring poses and postures. It was a beautiful overcast day, and we were able to provide a bit of pop now and then with our off-camera umbrella.
